Dedicated to supporting our Northern Virginia Workforce
The Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce is our Region's largest Chamber and represents the business community in Northern Virginia and Greater Washington. Included among our members are the Region’s largest and most innovative companies, the largest employers, as well as a mix of small and mid-sized companies.
The Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce is committed to workforce. As part of our 2018 strategic planning process, the Chamber identified workforce as one of our highest priority issues. It is an area in which we can effect positive change on the Region for the benefit of our member companies, as well as the broader community. Employers in our Region consistently cite workforce issues and challenges in hiring and retaining the right employees as the top issue keeping them up at night.
We believe it is imperative to create a demand-driven, workforce ecosystem that provides direct, streamlined connections to resources for all workforce stakeholders that accelerates the talent development process while driving innovation. Our transformative approach is demand-driven at every stage and addresses challenges made immediate by the global pandemic while remaining sustainable well beyond the economic stabilization and recovery periods.
The Chamber is well-positioned at the nexus of business and workforce development! We are a catalyzing force behind the creation of a new seamless model for identifying and developing skills, meeting industry workforce needs, and creating and joining the workforce of the future. Our approach is different and innovative in that we are starting with the needs of the employers as our focus; we are demand-driven!
A Chamber 95 Years in the Making
Founded in Northern Virginia, Our Home
Orginally founded in 1925, as a Fairfax county-focused business advocacy organization, the Northern Virginia Chamber has grown into region's largest Chamber of Commerce, drawing members and impacting policy across the Greater Washington D.C. Metropolitan Region.
Today, 700 members strong, representing close to 500,000 employees, the diversity of our community is one of our greatest assets, offering opportunities to learn from one another and form personal connections that help guide lasting business growth.
NOVA’s goal is to be considered not only a business partner but also an agent of change for our members. We do this through our work in government advocacy, education through events and programs, networking, promotion of member businesses, and recognition through awards.
We are proud to have worked together over these many years to build a meaningful association that enriches our community and look forward to continuing that good work.
